Technical & product document translation
The right Chinese specification so the factory makes exactly what you want
Yeni İpekyolu translates product specifications, technical drawings and quality checklists into Chinese using the terms Chinese factories use, and manuals, test reports and datasheets from China into Turkish. We maintain your glossary across projects.

Technical document translation: accurate Chinese from specification to production line

Most faulty production starts with a misunderstood specification
In a Chinese factory, the mould maker, cutter or line supervisor often reads an English specification through a translation app. Details such as material grade, tolerance, surface treatment or colour code easily drift in the process. The result is a costly error that goes unnoticed in the sample but appears in mass production. At Yeni İpekyolu we translate your specification directly into Chinese, using the terms used on the factory floor. A stainless steel grade, a fabric weight or a RAL colour, for example, is written exactly as it appears in the Chinese supplier's own catalogue.
In China, national GB standards are used for many product groups, and factories build their technical language around them. We keep the Turkish side's TS, EN or ISO references in the Chinese text and add the common GB equivalent as a note where one exists. That way the factory does not misunderstand which test is to be carried out by which method. Official assessments of conformity and equivalence remain the job of accredited bodies; we make sure both sides are talking about the same document.

Drawings, BOMs and quality checklists: working with tables and visuals
Technical documents are not just plain text. Notes on technical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), size charts and quality checklists usually arrive as Excel, PDF or CAD exports. We translate without breaking the original layout: tables stay tables, drawing notes are placed where they belong, and units and decimal separators do not get mixed up. We can show Chinese and Turkish side by side in the same document, so both your team and the factory can read the same page.
The quality checklist is especially important, because the inspector uses it at pre-shipment inspection and the factory runs its own internal checks against the same list. We write the definitions of critical, major and minor defects clearly and measurably in Chinese. That way concepts such as “scratch” or “colour difference” are not open to debate at the factory. When you work with our quality control service, the same Chinese list is also used by our inspectors.
Documents from China: Turkish versions of manuals, test reports and labels
When you import machinery, electronics or consumer products from China, the user manual, assembly instructions, safety data sheet and test report often arrive only in Chinese or in weak English. For sales, servicing and regulatory compliance in Türkiye, these documents need to be in Turkish. We translate manuals into plain Turkish the end user will understand, and test reports while preserving technical accuracy. If a document has to be submitted to an official body, we add sworn translation and notarisation, and confirm current requirements with you.
In the other direction, we often prepare packaging and label texts in Turkish for products to be sold in Türkiye and send them to the Chinese factory print-ready. Because the factory does not recognise Turkish characters, letters such as ç, ğ, ı and ş are commonly corrupted in print. We deliver files as vectors or with embedded fonts, and check the print proof from the factory for Turkish spelling. That way you remove the risk of wrong labels before the container arrives.

Which technical documents we translate
Product specifications and tech packs
Material, dimensions, tolerance, colour and packaging requirements are rendered into Chinese. The factory's own terms are preferred.
Drawing notes and BOMs
Text on drawings and materials lists is translated in the original layout. If you wish, it is delivered as a bilingual table.
Quality control checklists
Defect classes, measurement methods and acceptance criteria are written measurably in Chinese. The factory and inspector use the same list.

Chinese or English manuals are translated into end-user-friendly Turkish. Particular care is taken with warnings and safety statements.
Test reports, certificates and datasheets
Laboratory reports and safety data sheets are translated with technical accuracy. Sworn translation is added if official use is required.
Packaging and label texts
Label texts for the Turkish market are prepared print-ready. The factory's print proof is checked for Turkish characters.

- Product photos or sample details
- Earlier translations and preferred terms, if any
- Who will read the document (factory, end user, authority)
Our technical translation process: from glossary to print proof
- 1
Files and product information
Send the documents in their source formats; product photos and sample details also help. We identify the target reader (factory, customer, authority).
- 2
Glossary
We extract key terms and match their Chinese equivalents with the language the supplier uses. We send the glossary for your approval.
- 3
Translation and technical review
Translation is done in the original layout, and numbers and units are checked separately. If anything is unclear, we ask you or the factory.
- 4
Factory confirmation
If you wish, we send the Chinese document to the factory and clarify unclear points over WeChat. We relay the factory's questions to you in Turkish.
- 5
Delivery and updates
Files are delivered in editable format. When the product is revised, we update only the changed parts.
Frequently asked questions
The factory speaks English; do I still need a Chinese specification?
Usually the sales team knows English, while the technicians in production read Chinese. The interim translation done by the sales rep can lose detail. A Chinese specification takes the information straight to the production line.
Can you translate CAD files directly?
We can translate text layers on drawings or PDF/DXF exports. We do not touch dimensions or geometry; only the text changes. We choose the most suitable method together based on the file format.
Which sectors do you work in?
Textiles and apparel, furniture, machinery, electrical and electronics, packaging, building materials and consumer goods are the areas we work in most. We assign a translator suited to each project. For a highly specialised field, we plan a separate sector review.
Will a test report from China be valid in Türkiye?
Validity depends on the issuing laboratory's accreditation and the relevant legislation; this is assessed by the competent authorities. We prepare an accurate Turkish version of the report and, if needed, a sworn translation. We confirm current requirements with you.
Does the glossary belong to us?
Yes, the glossary we build for your project is delivered to you. We use the same glossary for later orders and with new suppliers. This ensures consistency between documents and saves time.
What happens if the factory has questions?
We can send the Chinese document to the factory ourselves and relay their questions to you in Turkish. If a technical call is needed, we support it with remote interpreting. This clears up misunderstandings at the sample stage.
When the product is revised, do I need to retranslate the whole document?
No. We compare with the previous version and translate only the changed sections. We mark the changes in the Chinese text so the factory can easily see them too.
